HOVERHUD can theoretically be used with any game or software running on SteamVR or OpenXR. As long as the target software is executed on either of these frameworks, the Command Loop will function correctly. We have verified compatibility with a variety of mainstream VR games and found no significant conflicts; in fact, it can also be used with certain VR video playback software.

Platform Support: Steam VR / OpenXR
Why do you need this tool?
Modern flight simulation or space simulation games feature extremely complex cockpits and hundreds of button mappings. In non-VR mode, you can rely on keyboard shortcuts, joystick buttons, or even the touchscreen interface. However, once you enter VR mode, all visual feedback disappears – you can only rely on blind typing and muscle memory, or you may have to frequently remove your headset to locate a specific button on the keyboard.
HOVERHUD was designed specifically to solve this problem.
This isn't a game – it's a VR overlay tool that places a fully customizable circular menu floating within your VR scene, allowing you to access any key binding in the most natural way possible – without removing your headset or typing blindly.
Core Features: Customizable Command Ring
- Display a circular or ring-shaped floating menu within the VR scene.
- Fully customizable: Add custom shortcuts, combination keys, or macro commands as needed.
- Supports dual-mode operation for Steam VR and OpenXR
- The menu's position, size, and transparency can be freely adjusted without affecting the game's field of view.
